Previous to adopting the ASSETIC system, we planned and reported our annual infrastructure works and valuation for each asset class differently. Our auditors also indicated that they were concerned that we were manually transferring valuation information from several separate documents into the final valuation report, with the possibility of errors occurring. ASSETIC system i.e. MYDATA was utilised for recording inspections, condition, work history and reporting on our infrastructure valuations. This has resulted in a single reporting system that consolidated the separate reports into the same format. This is definitely an easier document for our internal staff and auditors to review. It was simply a matter of ensuring all valuation inventories and condition reports for each asset group were in Excel or Access and this information was transferred directly into MYDATA without manual inputs. MYPREDICTOR assists us in producing long-term plans. MYDATA provided full audit trails and allowed Council to re-run reports whilst maintaining previous versions. The system is flexible and can easily be used for any type of asset recording, inventory, work management, prediction and valuation."

George Town Council started to implement an asset management framework process in 2003 with the guidance of ACEAM. Once we had all our Asset Management processes implemented, we were recommended a simple and user friendly Asset Management System developed by ASSETIC i.e. Predictor and MY DATA to match with our Asset Management Processes. This simple, flexible and local government specific, easy to use system has made life easier for our staff and we now believe that we are one of the leading councils with asset management in Australia. Having developed Asset Management Plans at Moreland City Council for roads, footpaths, kerb , drainage, open space and building assets, ASSETIC systems have provided the basis for Council to undertake financial predictions and engineering planning for these assets. The inventory registers, historical recording, prediction models and strategies components of ASSETIC have been easy to setup and have enabled Council to answer difficult questions such as

Over the years Brimbank City Council has investigated and trialled various Pavement Management Systems in order to find the most reliable, convenient, quick and user friendly system available. ASSETIC’s MYPREDICTOR meets our requirements in all these fields and has been used to provide our Road Rehabilitation Program from 2003 through to 2011. It’s step by step process provides a clear and structured path to obtaining the results as per users requirements. As well as providing a Forward Works Program, it can also give you a predicted segment specific condition each year for 25 years. It can provide a clear indication of network condition over time i.e. has network got worse or better and what components have got worse or better.
