Gosford City Council, NSW
In 2005, Gosford City recognised the need for a central asset register and management system for its road assets. A total framework implementation was adopted.
- Council staff, from depots through to directors, were involved in developing the concepts of this framework.
- Council officers were trained and accredited in a Gosford specific pavement assessment method. The method was tested and verified on site for its ability to trigger decisions related to asset management.
- Council officers were trained in prediction modeling and financial planning in accordance with future TAM plan requirements.
- Road assets were assessed, the data was downloaded into a central ASSETIC asset register which is accessed by all roads staff and regularly updated for integrity and accuracy.
- Three separate network prediction models have been developed and have been site-tested for accuracy in prediction. 20 year life cycle models will be set-up.
- The prediction models, based on the central asset register are the back-bone of Gosford’s long term capital planning.
